ONE OF THOSE DAYS...

Hi ladies, I hope everyone had a wonderful Easter, for me there was lots of chocolate, lots of hot cross buns and lots and lots of laziness...

I've got a list that goes for miles of things that I should have already done but I just can't bring myself to start anything I need some inspiration I just don't know where to start... I want to paint my living room and kitchen walls... I think I'm not sure I luv my blue and I'm a bit worried I won't like the colour. I've chosen 'Dulux clotted cream' I think it will make the rooms look bigger... I think... I'm not sure...

I think I'm also going through a mid life crisis I suddenly want to paint everything and rip the carpet up and polish the floorboards I want a new bathroom and a new kitchen. I want to knock down walls and make the living areas bigger; all sounds great doesn't it only problem is that I'm renting and need to get permission from my landlord to do anything, not to mention the money I would need Danny already whinges everytime I do something and reminds me that 'its not my house'...

I need to win lotto or something I want my own house, I want, I want, I want... OK OK I know, I shouldn't really complain I have been lucky in the renting world I have been in this house for 10 years and before we moved in here we were in our previous rental property for 10 years as well and our landlord pretty much lets me do whatever I want... I'm just having one of those days...

Anyway as per usual I have been naughty and I've got a couple of new goodies to show you all...

MY FIRST TAG...

Hi Ladies, I've been tagged for the first time and I've been thinking about my 7 random facts. It's much harder than I thought it would be but here goes...

1. When I was a child I was scared to death of dogs and cats, I wouldn't even cross the road if there was a dog or cat in sight. My mum used to have to walk me to school everyday as I wouldn't go pass the house on the corner because they had a dog that would bark at me; now I have two dogs Gus and Lily which are american bulldogs and they are absolutely lovely...

2. I have to have all the windows and blinds exactly the same, If I walk into a room and the blinds are different angles I just have to fix them, the same goes for windows if one is up higher than the other I have to line them up to the same position...

3. I hate cleaning I call myself a tidy upperer not a cleaner upperer and absolutely put off 'real' cleaning for as long as possible...

4. I never ever go grocery shopping I can't stand it, I write a list every week and my husband does it for me (gotta luv him)...

5. I LUV LUV LUV the beach and one day 'WHEN I WIN LOTTO' I want to buy a house right on the beach 'MY LITTLE PIECE OF HEAVEN' and a little cottage in the country and in summer I will live in my beach house and in winter I will live in my country cottage...

6. I am definately not a morning person, I can't even function until I've had a coffee and a shower. I stay up for hours and hours after Danny and the kids go to bed at night. I call this 'ME' time and I'm a little bit kranky if I don't get enough of it...

7. I started going out with Danny when I was 14 and I couldn't stand him when we first met, he was a friend of mine's older brother and I still don't know how we ended up together. My story is that he took advantage of me because I was so young...

ABSOLUTELY AMAZING...

Hi Ladies, firstly an update on my 'Baylie Boy' he is now home from hospital and doing great... So here is the story; last Saturday week he started to throw up and had a pain in his belly, my neice took him to the doctors only to be told to rush him straight to Westmeads Children's Hospital. He was apparently born with a loop on his small intestine and as he has grown the intestine had gone into the loop and slowly closed.

The part of the intestine that was inside the loop had died and caused an obstruction. Anyway he was rushed into emergency surgery and they removed 54cm of his small intestine and his ipendics, he has a huge cut all the way across his little belly and was in an induced coma for a couple of days to help with his recovery.

They expected him to be in hospital for at least two weeks he has amazed the doctors and has just bounced back as if nothing happened. Although he is still very weak and has lost a lot of weight but he is eating solids and going to the toilet which is a great sign and he is already walking around. I wasn't able to sleep all week as we were not able to see him because he was in intensive care and it was a very worrying time for everyone.

It makes you really stop and look at the little things that you take for granted when something like this happens we could of easily lost him if he was not taken to the doctors when he was. He has been an extra brave little boy and I can't believe how resilient children are...

Hi Ladies, look what came on Friday afternoon... No not a box of mess it's my lovely Gail goodies, I just LUV my little 'original' I think this could be my new FAV...

I've really had a lovely weekend, we had a family BBQ yesterday and it was lovely to sit around and relax and chat in good company with good food and great weather. It's always nice to have the whole family together and we've been trying to get in as many BBQ's as we can before the weather changes.

HAPPY AND SAD...

Hi guys, I just thought I would let you all know that my 14 year old son Max just got his first job at McDonalds he starts next Tuesday... It's happy and exciting news but also quite sad, I can't believe my baby will be working he has grown so much in the last year.

And my daughter Alice who recently turned 16 got her Learner's permit and had her first driving lesson, with her Dad of course 'too scary for me' in my car though... Alice has been working at McDonalds for a year and a half and it has been really good for her, not the best wages but it has given her some responsibility and her own money which has been great for me too... Anyway she is driving us crazy all we hear 24/7 is "can I go for a drive" "can I drive here" "can I drive there"...

I've been collecting vintage frames for a couple of months now to make a family photo grouping, I have started painting them cream and then I am going to scan my photos and print them off in sepia or black & white not sure yet, I will see which looks better.

This is my collection so far...

I've been playing around with the layout now all I need is a spare wall to hang them on...

The lovely Mel from Mel's Rose Place was talking about collections in a previous post 'which I have only just caught up on' and it started me thinking about what I collect without even knowing it... I LUV teddy bears, I LUV Gail's paintings, I LUV throws and cushions, I LUV roses, I LUV white cane furniture and wrought iron beds, I have recently fallen in LUV with china dinner plates and tea sets that have roses on them and after looking around I noticed that I seem to have a thing for cake stands...

I think I'm going to have to buy some of those lovely faux cupcakes that a few of you lovely ladies make...

I'll try and do a collage of all my gorgeous Gail goodies, I'm up to 16 prints, 1 lovely shelf, 1 letter/key holder, 1 original and I have another original and a print on the way, and I also got a cute little Gail box thing on ebay OOPS I almost forgot I managed to be the lucky winning bidder of her little cupcake original off ebay as well...

"My daughter's boyfriend Jake was sitting in my lounge room the other day and said it doesn't matter where I look I see roses" mmmm just how I like it...

LOOK AT MY NAUGHTY STASH...

Hi ladies, yes I'm still here... I really don't have any excuses for not blogging only that I have been working a lot and tired a lot... Anyway I have been having a quick sneak peak now and then and I'm in awe of all you lovely talented ladies. I just can't believe all the energy and enthusiasm you guys have.

I had a lovely camping trip with my sisters and all the kids, my daughter took a few of her friends with us so it was a bit full on especially in the bathroom... I'm sure you can imagine. Haven't really had a chance to look at the pics we took but I will definately post them when I get around to it...

I'm still recovering financially though and I've been very good on ebay and

So here are some pics of my new treasures they are just lovely I'm very proud of myself...

Firstly my new Gail bathroom print isn't it devine...

Now I might have to change my whole bathroom decor from blue to pink...

Then I really splurged on this gorgeous 'American Beauty' trio and sugar/creamer set (I won't tell you how much it cost) but it was way toooooo much and I think it's the start of a collection...

I also got this lovely pedestal plate stand it's so sweet I absolutely adore it...

And this little crystal vase which next year will be full of real roses from my garden...

Last but not least I also got a lovely Ashwell Roseblossom quiltcover set and these lovely photo frames they came with pictures of vintage ladies wearing pink hats but I replaced them with my own little 'angels' first holy communion photos.

Just look how the lovely Tanya (chic2510) from Ebay has wrapped them I felt like it was my birthday I didn't want to unwrap them they looked so lovely...

and she even included these lovely little tags as well...

Oops nearly forgot my gorgeous little vegetable tureen...

Don't you just LUV them, I must say they have cured my feeling sorry for myself...

Ok enough of the good stuff, you know how it is when your just too busy to do anything and things all of a sudden start to get neglected, well my garden does... My lovely fuschia is no more, along with a few other favs and the two new rose gardens I planted back in spring that I didn't get around to putting the weed mat down, well the grass was taller than the roses.

So I spent all day pulling out grass and weeds now they are ready for the weed mat and bark, but to my surprise the roses are still going great. My pride and joy cecille brunner weeping rose has finally grown over the hoop and looks ready to start weeping...

This photo is back in Spring when I was thinking 'mmmmm' is it going to do anything...

And "TA DA" look at it now and it's been flowering all summer too which is great...

Ok now I'm off to catch up with everyone so I will be unavailable for the rest of the night.

BACK FOR A WEEK AND HEAPS OF CATCHING UP TO DO...

WARNING IT'S A BIT OF A BABBLE...

Hi ladies, how are you all... I've been off on a holiday for the last week to lovely Toowoon Bay at the Central Coast of NSW just fabulous. I did miss my late night travels around the world to everyone's blogs, but I had a fantastic time.

Now to catch up I hope everyone had a great NEW YEARS EVE, mine started out great we had a BBQ/birthday at my sister's place. Yes I turned the big 38 and boy do I feel it, anyway all was great lots of family, food and fun. We actually got the happy birthday in before midnight for the first time in the last few years and the kids all enjoyed the sparklers and party poppers after the big countdown.

I was minding my nephew for the night and returned home at about 1.30am to find my daughters friend who was at a party with Alice and some of her other friends at my house with two boys that I had never seen before, they had come back early as she had Alice's keys, anyway they promptly left and I just had a bad feeling about them and after a quick look around realised that my sons new playstation was not where it usually was. He was staying at my sisters for the night so I quickly rang him to check and as suspected it was gone, we quickly jumped in the car and went looking for the boys, luckily we found them up the street and after a few choice words regarding the police they owned up to taking it and said they would show us where it was. They took us back down the street to a yard and in a little bush they pulled out Max's new playstation, phone, ipod, ipod shuffle, nintendo ds and Alice's ipod and ipod shuffle. I couldn't believe it, I had only noticed the playstation gone, but the little ........... had cleaned out my kid's rooms. Anyway after a HUGE lecture we returned home and I was just in total shock, I couldn't sleep for a couple of nights but now I have come to the conclusion that it has to be my bad and good luck for the year "hopefully". I think we were SOOOOOO LUCKY to get it all back...

Anyway on to the holiday we stayed in a cabin overlooking the beach with a fantastic view and a great verandah to just sit back and relax it even has it's own bbq built in with a sink attached, when you stood at the front door it felt like you were on a boat all you could see was water all around. We went with my sister Sonia and her husband Serg and their son Michael, my other sister Julie and her kids came up for a couple of days and even mum and dad came for a day as it's only about an hour and a half from where we live a great time was had by all, fishing, playing cricket, swimming, sunbaking and just kicking back, mostly kicking back for me....

I'm back for a week and then we go camping for 10 days at Anna Bay which is a lovely spot a bit further up the coast and yes I did say camping, We go with both my sisters and their husbands and all the kids, my daughter is also taking 3 of her girlfriends this year (scary) We are very spoilt campers though; we have ensuite sites which have their own bathroom and we take fridges, electrical appliances and just about everything but the kitchen sink. The kids love the camping it always brings great memories...

I will spend the next few days catching up on everyone's blogs and can't wait to see what all of you creative ladies have been up to, I've still got a list as long as my arm of things I want to get done at home but they will have to wait till the next holidays...

I'M BACK FULLY RELAXED AND READY TO GO...

Ok so this is where I've been the last few days, and believe me I needed it....

Hi Ladies, what a great Christmas, I hope everyone had a great one too. I had the whole family over on Christmas day 'the whole 26 of us' and it was just fantastic we have a traditional hot xmas dinner and then my neice dresses up as santa and we do the whole hand out the presy thing which takes forever, anyway it all went off without a hitch and we all had a great night.

I put my daughter in charge of xmas day photos as she got a new camera for xmas, which I really don't want to talk about as she dropped it last night and it's now not working $300 down the drain... So when I get it fixed I'll post some pics of the day.

I also do a Christmas dinner just for Danny, Max, Alice and me on boxing day and I took some pics with her old camera which I have actually used more than her over the last 6 months.

I work in a school so I've got the whole school holidays off YIPEE, so if anyone is looking for me this is where I'll be with a cold beer in hand, sorry ladies I am a beer girl just can't stand the taste of wine...

Hi Ladies, wer'e nearly there... How fast is it coming I can't keep up. I did a little bit of christmas shopping yesterday not much but it's a start. I've been very very naughty 2 new prints and an original off the lovely Gail http://gailmccormack.blogspot.com, a lovely little planter trolley and yes I finally got a white xmas tree off ebay for $11.00, so of course I had to go and buy some more decorations. I'll post pics as soon as they arrive can't wait my first Gail original....

Hi ladies, I'm very happy with myself today. I went shopping with my daughter to get some decorations for her 16th birthday which is tomorrow, it never ends one thing after another....

Anyway we were in Target looking at xmas decorations when I come across this old tattered tree box and inside was a little silver tinsel tree, so I sent Alice to price it, and it was only $10 yes down from $50 so I had to have it. I've given up looking for a little white one there only seems to be huge 6ft and 7ft ones around. (tree looks much better in real life, it just shines and sparkles from all the tinsel) bit disappointed with pics.

As soon as I got home I had to decorate it and take it out on my back verandah, I also made some pink bows from tulle to hang with my silver bells, I'm very happy with the way they turned out. I've finally got my shabby xmas verandah, I've ordered some little shabby xmas stockings from ebay also can't wait to get them and hang them up on my little shelf.

I tried to take some photos of my xmas lights but they came out very strangely, my kids think they look cool, I'm a bit disappointed maybe it's because of the flash not sure. I will try and get some better ones soon...

THE TREE IS UP.... HOORAY...

Firstly I want to thank all of you lovely girls that left such nice comments about my daughter Alice, she had a big head for a week. Even though I do think she looked the nicest, I know I'm being biast but that a mother's perogative....

Hi ladies, long time no blog.... I've spent the last two days putting up my xmas tree and decorations. It's been a long long long weekend, and we finally finished I think...

I still havn't done any shopping at all and christmas is coming way too fast. Still no luck with my little white xmas tree for my shabby christmas verandah, but I have started I've hung my big silver bells and silver tinsel.

You forget just how much stuff there is that goes along with xmas. I pulled 6 big plastic tubs out of my garage and I still have two more full of stuff that I use on christmas day, not to mention the xmas tree boxes. I have the whole family to my house on christmas day and we set up one of those huge big white cabana things, which has to be decorated and covered in lights, then theres the table to be set up, It's a lot of work but all worth it in the end...

I'll post some pics tomorrow of how my lights turned out, but here are some pics from my lounge & dining room area...

Hi Ladies, It's been a while but I have an excuse I have been busy my daughter Alice had her Year 10 formal tonight, and I can tell you I'm so glad it's over... I'm sure you can imagine the dress, the shoes, the hair, the makeup not to mention the the car what a drama.

Anyway I'm finished whingy, it was all lovely everything just fell into place. So here are some pics of my little princess...

SNUCK IN SOME PINK DECORATIONS

Hi Ladies, I just couldn't help myself, I had to to do it... Yes I snuck in some lovely christmas decorations. I went shopping on Saturday and stopped in the $2 shop and when I left I had the most gorgeous PINK and silver christmas balls, I even got a lovely silver glitter star.

They are just lovely and I can't wait to hang them on something, I've looked high and low for a small white christmas tree, but alas I just can't find one. If anyone has seen one in there travels. Please, Please, Please let me know where...

Another of my Ebay goodies came today and I thought I would just share as I absolutely LUV it. She is the sweetest little teddybear with an armful of babies and a little sign that says...

ALL THE WORDS IN THE WORLD CAN'T SAY AS MUCH AS A HUG FROM MUM...

I've been very busy trying to sort stuff out and clean up, which I can't stand. I call myself a tidy upperer, not a cleaner upperer so it's killing me. Anyway in amongst all the dust I came across this lovely old gingerbread man platter that I bought about 20 years ago at a pottery party. I thought I'd give him a makeover, he's not finished yet but I just had to show you the pics.

Isn't he lovely, I'm going to paint all his squiggly bits pink and my daughter wants me to add some pink glitter. I'll try and get him done in the next couple of days and show you the finished product... I know he looked good before, but he just didn't fit in with my decor anymore and I'm sure he will look great when I'm finished.

Hi ladies, I'm so happy all my late night Ebay naughties have arrived and they are just lovely. The camera has been out and I've been trying to take some decent photos for all to see, but now I can't find my link cable to download them. So I've taken these photos with my phone tonight, so be warned they are a bit blurry 'it's not your eyes'...

Firstly my Robert Gordon Stitches tea set, yes I got the whole set couldn't help myself and I'm glad I did it's absolutely gorgeous...

Next, my little jam and cream glass bowls thingy majiggy...

Then my little handbag lamp "SO CHIC"... It looks great with the light turned on, but I couldn't get a good photo of it so I'll try again tomorrow.

And last but definately not least, my lovely prints from 'you guessed it' the talented Gail www.gailmccormack.com.... "What can I say, simply stunning as usual"

I've also started to do some spring cleaning 'I know I'm late but better late than never' its amazing how fast "stuff" accumulates. I have a whole corner of things that need painting, hanging or just somewhere to live. I'm trying to get everything done so I can prepare for CHRISTMAS...

After seeing everyone's gorgeous chrissy things, I got carried away and bought an inflatable santa for my roof and an inflatable snowman, reindeer and santa for the front yard 'I've got my eye on an inflatable xmas tree as well'.

Every year I do the whole christmas light thing; I cover the whole roof with fairy lights and hang icicle lights around all the guttering and under all the windows, I also have candy canes along the front of the house and I even put a christmas tree with fairy lights on the front verandah, anyway poor Danny has to spend half a day on the roof and he always whinges, so I've already started to be extra extra nice to him...

Hi ladies, I've done absolutely nothing this weekend. I think the day light savings caught up with me and I was just soooooo tired. I babysat my nephew last night and he usually is asleep by 8.30 but last night he just didn't want to go, so I finally got tuff at about 12.30pm (he's only two by the way) so that didn't help and what a lazy day today...

Went shopping though this afternoon for a new TV as ours blew up in the big storm last Friday. I Had to drag Danny out of the shops he was getting too excited and wanted to buy one of those huge LCD TV's for a couple of thousand.

I can't believe how organised all of you ladies are, getting ready for xmas already. I'm exhausted just thinking about it, I absolutely luv xmas and i'm finding it more difficult each year trying to think of something to buy for Alice and Max. 'I have spoilt them over the years and I'm paying for it now'...

I've decided that my next project is going to be my old swing chair, it has just fallen apart out in the weather. So it's time for a makeover, I think I know what I'm going to do; but I'll definately have to be extra extra nice to mum as I will need some sewing done. I'll post some before and after pics for all to see.

I've also been a bit naughty over the last few days on ebay and can't wait for my new goodies to arrive, I'll share some pics when they get here...

Meet the Family...

Ok guys, I suppose I should introduce the family. But first a little background info; I have 4 sisters and 1 brother, my husband Danny has 4 sisters and 1 brother. I have 15 nephews and neices on my side and 12 neices and nephews on Danny's side, so I have quite a large family with lots of birthdays, BBQ's etc, etc, etc... (I'll try and get some pics of everyone and post them soon) There will definately be none of me though, I absolutely can't stand having my photo taken...

My sisters and I are very close and go on holidays together all the time, We LIVE for our HOLIDAYS. It's always lots of fun and we have heaps of great little memories and stories that will be told for years to come 'especially from some of our camping trips'.

We have had many pets over the years including fish, mice, guinea pigs, bunny rabbits, birds, chickens and even lizards. My kids are finally over the 'I want one' PLEEEEEASE... syndrome and now we only have two lovely dogs Gus and Lily, they are american bulldogs "no not the ones that get all the bad press they are american pitbull terriers" anyway they are the biggest, laziest, cuddliest most adorable babies. Take a look at the pictures and you will see what I mean. Everyone that meets them just falls in love...

And these are my two babies Alice and Max, they are growing so fast it's scary Alice can get her Learners permit in December and 'I'm' just not ready... Just last week she took all of her porcelain dolls down from her shelf in her bedroom and replaced them with photos of all her friends; I was in a depression all day. Max is nearly 14 and his voice has changed already, sometimes when I'm in another room and I hear him talking I think we must have a visitor but when I walk into the room it's just Max...

PS...I've been looking at everyone's great halloween pics, how clever you all are and what great fun for all the kids. I bet they just luv it, I didn't have any little spooks come to my house maybe I'll have to decorate next year...

Hi ladies, well what a weekend. We had a huge storm Friday afternoon and I came home from work to find my internet not working. After many phone calls to Optus, they finally told me that they would have to send out a technician on Monday 'NOOOOOOO'. A whole weekend without any internet.... Can you imagine.

It turned out not too bad though, as I did get that paint brush out and painted away all day Sunday. I managed to get those chairs and the tea trolley done and I also squeezed in a lovely breakfast tray and some hanging baskets. But after a whole day painting I decided that I'm going to buy one of those spray paint guns. My arm is absolutely killing me...

Hi ladies, I feel like a professional blogger now, I've gone and done it, corrupted another shabby lover...

Yes, I was having my nightly talk to my sister tonight on the phone and we were talking about the new target catalogue 'it has some lovely pink shabby things' Anyway I've kept my little blogging world a secret and tonight I just blurted it out.

So my lovely sister Julie will be dropping in on you all and let me tell you she will be blogging for hours. She is my biggest sister (I have 4) and she also luv's the shabby world. I have warned her about the terrible addiction and the absolutely gorgeous things that she will find, but she was so keen to have a look she suddenly had to go and I was told "I'll see you tomorrow"

I'm sure she will open a blogspot soon, and she will have lots too say. When she has some time as she is so busy with 5 kids, yes not a typo five. So Jule's I hope you have fun and don't stay up tooooooo late...

Hi ladies, I have to admit I'm so inspired by everyone, that I can't wait to go and buy some paint and start some shabby makeovers. I'm not sure where to start, sooooooo much to do... I think I'll start with the lovely old wrought iron chairs I brought a few weeks ago and then move onto the lovely tea trolley that I just had to buy tonight.

I know... I can't help it, but as I keep telling my husband "I do need it" I just have to find a home for it now.

When I've finished making them all pretty, I'll post some before and after pics for everyone to see.

Hi ladies, this is a pic of my lovely little bicycle print that I brought from Gail. I had it hanging next to my bed so when I woke up every morning I could just look at it and smile... But I've decided that it's just too small for this space so I am replacing it with a new buy from Gail that is a bit bigger.

I took this photo with my phone as I still haven't charged my camera, you know how it is, "I'll do it later"... so I apologise if it's a bit blurry. I'll post a pic of my new print soon and you can let me know which one looks better.

What a wonderful world of blog spots, it just never ends. Every blog I visit just leads to more and more wonderful discoveries and talented creative ladies, I'm definately feeling inspired and I think this weekend I will start on my list of 'things that should have been done yesterday'.

PS. Don't you just LUV my darling little teddy bear snuggled up on my bed, her name is "Harriet Sleeping Bear" she is my favourite...
